Two things worth knowing. Placard pressures are cold pressures, meaning the car has been parked three hours or more, so even the drive to the servo warms the tyres and inflates the reading. And your dashboard warning light is not an early warning: it need not come on until a tyre is 25% below placard, which is already well into the range where tyres fail.

We will not work out a pressure from your vehicle weight, and neither should any site. Doing it properly needs individual axle loads and the tyre's load range read against a standards table, which is a tyre fitter's job. Get it wrong and you land below the placard, which is the condition that causes blowouts.

Bar

Definition: A bar is defined as exactly 100,000 pascals - close enough to Earth's average sea-level atmospheric pressure (1 atm is about 1.01325 bar) that "1 bar" feels roughly like normal outdoor pressure.

History: Norwegian meteorologist Vilhelm Bjerknes - one of the founders of modern weather forecasting - introduced the bar in 1909, named from the Greek "baros" (weight), specifically because meteorologists needed a pressure unit that lined up neatly with everyday atmospheric conditions.

Current use: European tire pressure gauges, espresso machines (a good shot typically pulls at around 9 bar), scuba depth gauges, and industrial pressure equipment.
